About Weather
Worldwide forecasts to help you plan everyday activities.
Forecasts and open data
Forecasts come from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, MET Norway, through Locationforecast. Regional models cover Nordic and Arctic areas, with global forecasts elsewhere. Available detail varies by location and forecast horizon.
Weather data is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International. Celsius is the default. You can choose Fahrenheit in the header; your choice is saved in this browser. Wind is shown in mph, rainfall in inches and pressure in inHg. We calculate daily summaries and group samples by the location’s timezone. These transformations are our own. MET Norway does not endorse this website.
What the current forecast means
The current panel shows a model estimate for the nearest available hour, not a station observation. The update time belongs to the provider’s forecast. If the provider is unavailable, a clearly labeled saved forecast may be shown for up to six hours after retrieval.
Hourly detail is available in the short range. Later intervals are wider. Daily highs and lows use available samples and may differ from full-day extremes. Today covers the remaining forecast period, and the final day may be partial. Forecast confidence generally decreases further into the future.
Places around the world
Location names, coordinates, population, regions and timezones come from GeoNames, CC BY 4.0. The October 2026 cities500 database contains 236,112 places across 246 countries and territories. It includes places with more than 500 residents and administrative seats, rather than every hamlet or address.
Use my location opens the forecast for the nearest named place in this database. Sunrise, sunset and daylight are calculated for its coordinates. Weather illustrations are original.
