THE WEATHER HANDBOOK
Read a forecast in three steps
Start with the place and time, then look at the hours that matter to your plans. The large temperature is only the starting point.
Check the place before the numbers
Search for a city and check the country and region in the result. Several places can share a name. The forecast page shows the selected place and its local time, so a late evening at home may already be tomorrow at your destination.
Move from now to your chosen hour
Use the hourly strip for the part of the day you need. Switch the chart between temperature, rainfall, and wind, then read the exact values below it. On a phone, swipe the row sideways. A day card opens a summary and an hourly table for that date.
Read the update and the limits
The current panel is a forecast model estimate. Daily ranges come from the samples available on this page; today includes the remaining forecast period. Read the update time beneath the current conditions and any notice about older cached data. Return to the forecast closer to your planned activity.
Try it on your forecast
Open a place you know, look at the relevant section, and keep the guide nearby if a label is unclear.
